The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission is an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention and is dedicated to engaging the culture with the gospel of Jesus Christ and speaking to issues in the public square for the protection of religious liberty and human flourishing.  The vision can be summed up in three words: kingdom, culture and mission.

ERLC exists to assist the churches by helping them understand the moral demands of the gospel, apply Christian principles to moral and social problems and questions of public policy, and to promote religious liberty in cooperation with the churches and other Southern Baptist entities.

Since its inception, the ERLC has been defined around a holistic vision of the kingdom of God, leading the culture to change within the church itself and then as the church addresses the world.

The ERLC has offices in Washington, D.C. and Nashville, TN.
