In partnership with Appalachian Mountain Ministries, the churches of Habersham, Rabun and Liberty Associations collected almost 1200 backpacks filled with school supplies, clothing, and gifts to be distributed to every elementary school child in Johnson County, Tennessee. Members from seven local Watauga Baptist Associations met the truck to unload, sort, pray over, and prepare to take these precious gifts to the students at the five elementary schools in and around Mountain City. In addition, each child was able to get a Bible and a booklet that contained the Christmas story.
